Serious??

If you read our blog at all you know that Gage just had his surgery.  Well, we received a phone call this morning from the surgeon's office requesting that we call his insurance company to let them know that he is a male.  Wait just one minute...you mean the same insurance company that authorized a circumcision on a "female".  I could not believe that the insurance company insisted on a parent calling in to state the sex of their child and not taking the doctor's word for it.  Not to mention that they pre-authorized the surgery!  Idiots I swear.

Change in Plans

Yesterday we received another e-mail from Hermana Moffitt. Great News! She received a phone call from the Mission President and her new date of departure is May 21st! Therefore, she will now be home on May 22nd!! This is the good news. There is some bad news, she is still going to go up to BYU Idaho. Although, I think that I am kind of getting used to the horrible idea. She's got do what is right for her. I cannot wait for the end of MAY!!

More Fun!

One of my favorite things about photography is getting to know others!  I know this beautiful family from church.  However, I did not know they have such a love for motorcycles.  Too much fun!  Thank you to the wonderful Cartrette Family for a fun photo shoot!
(There are a couple more on the photography blog!)

HELP!

I am completely feeling overwhelmed with this weight loss thing.  There are so many choices out there and I don't know which one will work best for me.  I like the idea of weight watchers in that you can eat "normal" food.  However, I struggle to come up with meals for dinners.  I have an appointment to meet with high energy weight loss on Tuesday, and I'm thinking of canceling it.  I looked into nutrisystem and it is expensive!  I know that I want it all...easy, affordable, no in person meetings, no trainers, just get rid of the gut!!

So, I'm throwing it out to all of you.  I know that I need to loose weight.  I look like I've had four kids!  Yikes!  If anyone has any thoughts or ideas as to what has worked, what hasn't worked, recipes, anything it would be much appreciated!  Thank you!

This one's for you Camie!

I have been busy playing this afternoon with a couple of fun new toys!  I ordered a backdrop stand with 3 backdrops!  Also, I ordered a camera bracket that is awesome and it even has it's own umbrella!  I'm excited to use this next month during a wedding.  The gal is so cute, she is from Indonesia and is wearing a traditional Indonesian Wedding Dress.  It is so cool!

It is so much fun to play around with new equipment!  And poor Camie won't be bothered so much by me anymore!  Thank you Camie for always being so kind and generous!

Yeah, no more surgeries!

Gage had his surgery this morning and everything went just fine.  I love the doctor that both my boys have gone to.  He was a little bit fussy when he first woke up, but is completely back to normal now.  Thanks to both Grandma's for all of your help!

Happy Birthday Kyan!

I cannot believe that Mr. Kyan is already 4 years old!  I still remember the day that I found out that Chad and Jenni were expecting.  They were both such boogers about not finding out what they were having...although we all know who really was the one behind all of it.  Anyhow, we were all guessing what they were going to have.  I must say that I did predict a little boy! :)  I was so right!  Kyan is all boy!  He is such an intelligent little guy.  He is an amazing brother to little Miss Lola.  He also is a wonderful cousin to Michelle, Mason, Saige, and Gage.  We hope that you have an AWESOME birthday Kyan!  We love you so very much and are so grateful to have you in our family!  We will see you at the PaRtY tonight!  Happy Birthday Buddy!

"No, thank you. I would like water please."

Every Monday Michelle is sent home with the lesson plans for the upcoming week at her preschool.  This week they are discussing the letter "T".  One of the activities that they will be doing is making tea to drink with their snacks today.  I called and spoke with her teacher on Monday asking that they please do not give Michelle any tea as she does not drink it.  He asked if she had some type of medical problem such as high blood pressure that is causing her not to drink tea.  I advised him that no she does not have a medical problem rather it is a religious thing.  He then was okay with her not drinking the tea.  He was worried that she might be upset that she will be the only one not participating.  I assured him that she would be just fine with water and that I would speak with her about it.  So I sat down with Michelle and we discussed things that we do and don't put into our bodies.  I'm not sure she understood the entire concept but nonetheless, she does know that when they are having tea for snack today she is to say "No, thank you.  We don't drink tea.  I would like water please."  She has been practicing really well.  I really hope that her teacher remembers and that she stands up for her beliefs!  Who would have thought that we would be needing to discuss the word of wisdom so early.

Goals #2, #3, #51, #68, #77, and #97 are DONE!

I haven't updated my goal list lately so that's why there are so many to check off!

#2: buy a treadmill
We didn't buy a treadmill....we bought an elliptical.  I have been faithful in using it everyday so far!
#3: purchase a shoootsac
So, I didn't buy a shootsac either, but I did buy a new bag for the camera gear.  I spoke with some other photographers that have a shootsac and most of them still didn't care for it as it was still always in the way.  So, I opted for a backpack type of bag.  It is great!  It is never in my way and all of my gear is right where I need it.
#51: go play in the snow
We went up to Heber to visit Lonnie's grandparents and enjoyed the snow!
#68: purchase gun for Lonnie
Lonnie now has is off duty gun!  We really wanted to get this before Obama went into office.  We are even considering getting me one. Yikes...I am terrified of guns!
#77: purchase throw pillows for family room
Yesterday while I was at Sam's Club I found some throw pillows that I liked.  Of course they are just maroon and green.  Pretty normal around here, but nonetheless I like them and I am not broke!
#97: talk to Sister Murphy and get the goods
So, I didn't talk to Sister Murphy I talked to Sister Valenzuela.  In any event, it was fun and I purchased some new fun makeup and got some great advice.

Just in case you are interested, we are currently working on Saige's bedroom and I cannot wait to post pictures of it.  If it turns out anything close to what I have envisioned it will look awesome!  Time will tell!

June 26, 2009

What will you be doing on this very special and exciting day?  Why is it so special and exciting you ask?  Well, we just heard from my sister today that she will be returning home on this date!  I cannot tell you how excited I am to finally have her home.  I'm pretty sure that I can hang in there a couple of more months.  She is really talking about going to BYU Idaho in the Fall.  We will have to talk her out of this crazy ideas for sure!

8 Years...Can You Believe It?

This post is only a couple of days late.  Oh, well such is life.  Lonnie and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary on Monday!  It was a nice day.  Lonnie came home from work with roses (eight were red and four were yellow-pretty ironic) and the got some much needed rest.  That evening we went to dinner at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse.  It was sooo good!  Just the smell of the hot butter was making me gain weight!  It is a very classy restaurant so we felt a little bit out of place.  In fact when we were first seated they asked if we would like a black napkin.  We weren't sure what that was for so we decided to play it safe and so no thank you.  Later we found out they were for your dark clothes so that you wouldn't get white lint on them. :)  Well, needless to say I don't think they saw my flip flops!  Anyhow, we enjoyed a very nice quiet dinner.  Afterwards we went to Fashion Square Mall and enjoyed some shopping!

I still cannot believe that I have been married for EIGHT years!  Where has the time gone?  I am so grateful for such an awesome husband!  Lonnie is the best.  He never ceases to amaze me. He has one of the biggest hearts that I've ever seen.  I am so blessed and honored to be his wife. Thanks for putting up with me for so long!  Just think...our ten year is just around the corner I can't wait!
