school questions

So Michelle's birthday is on September 2nd and of course she just misses the school cut off for kindergarten.  I have found two charter schools that will accept her this year.  However, I haven't really heard anything about them.  So...if you have any feedback please let me know.  The schools are Arizona Charter Academy and Carden.  Any input will be much appreciated!  Thanks!

I had Austin in Carden and overall was not too impressed. I'm sure he didn't suffer because of going there, I just didn't like the staf too much.

I did LOVE Rosefield though, are they an option for you?

Having said that I put Jared in early at Rosefield and he has done very well until this year. His teacher says that the younger kids in each age group start to struggle at grade 3 and that is what is happening now. She seems to think it is a maturity issue and I agree. Having said that, he is a boy which makes a difference and he has a September birthday which made him VERY young. It's hard to say but if I knew then what I know ow I would have waited for the next school year. Hope that helps! Your family is too cute!

Thanks Amy. I guess that I should have put that one of the BIG reasons that we want her to start this year is that because of the way her and Mason's birthday's fall they will be in the same grade if we do not have her start next year. That being said both Lonnie and I really feel that she is ready and will be just fine. We feel that really the choice is kind of a social one, all of her friends in church will be starting and I know that I wouldn't want to be in the same grade as my sibling who is not my twin. This probably seems really stupid to some people but these little guys are going to have enough to explain in life and deal with and we all know how "loving" kids can be!

I've heard Cardon's philosophies and curriculum are good, but they are very disorganized. My sister's kids went there, and every time they needed to get a hold of her, they called me. I kept telling them I was not the mother, but I was the emergency contact, but they kept right on calling me. One time they "lost" my nephews. I went to pick them up and they were nowhere to be found. They were finally located in the place they had repeatedly told me they were not.

I had entered Morgan in Carden when she was 5 because we felt she was ready, which she was. I wasn't happy with the office staff but loved her teacher and she did really well. She is in third now and does great. It wouldn't hurt for her to be there only for kindergarten.

dont do Carden.. we did for 1 year and it was so dumb! kids safety is not a priority, I didnt like it. also their uniforms are outrageous. $20 per shirt. there was a lot I didnt like about carden... anyway age wise I think she will be fine, but that is only up to you and Lonnie. We put Craig in early because he was ready (he is an october bday so he was 4 for the first 3 months of school) but we held Landon back (september bday) its all about he child. my kids go to rosefield. we love it there. we had 1 bad teacher, but all in all they have a very family oriented atmosphere and great learning curriculum. they cater to each childs needs.
